Two houses beside each other on fire in Etobicoke, crews on scene

Toronto police say crews are on scene fighting two house fires next to each other in Etobicoke Saturday afternoon.

Police say the call for a two-alarm fire came in close to 2:20 p.m. in the area of Islington Avenue and Elmhurst Drive, and there were reports of a person trapped inside.

Around 20 minutes later, officers say the house next door also caught on fire.

Roads are closed in the area and several emergency vehicles are there.

They say one person has been rushed to hospital. No word if anyone else has been hurt.

At this point the cause of the fire is unknown.
